J. Ran has done it again!

Jay reminded me once again how incredibly fun and rewarding writing, recording and producing can be. The song “Fear” is I would say 95% completed. Today, a few more background vocals, a few more ad-libs, a few tweaks to the arrangement and we are there. Keep checking the portfolio section on the fouchemuzik website. Exploring the “Mastering World”

Mastering to me is such an art form. The art of enhancing the final mixes, figuring out the song order, while never losing sight of the ultimate goal which is to create a compelling and exciting listening experience. Well, UNIVERSAL AUDIO’s UAD-2 card, using plug-ins such as the “Precision Mastering bundle”, the Cambridge EQ and a few more, are proving quite handy as I’m fine tuning one of my client’s stereo mixes. Also listening to the mixes through Apogee’s ROSETTA 200 could not be sweeter. The next step, UV-22 dithering.

After spending some time on the East Coast J is back, ready to lay down some solid R & B tracks. On the agenda, lead vocals and background vocals on a song named “Fear”. The song is about a man realizing and having to face his fears when it comes to approaching the woman he loves. Let’s see what happens. Here we go!

Juijua’s mixes are done!!

Last week, we put the finishing touches on the mixes, adding a few vocal parts here and there, adding some salt, some pimiento, and a bit of EQ, COMPRESSION and REVERB to some of the tracks. We are now spending some time with a CD of the entire album with the hopes of catching and tending to some last minute fixes before scheduling the MASTERING session.

I’ve just registered to attend the Audio Engineering Society’s 127 Convention taking place in New York City in October. I’ve looked through their calendar and I’ve got to tell you, my schedule is full.
Some of the sessions include talks on 3-D simulation techniques in game development, perspectives and philosophies of platinum artists and producers, Mastering methods and technics, Golden Ears - Audio Ear Training: Learning the Most Essential Audio Skill! etc. Great topics for those interested in that kind of “stuff”. I believe that staying informed about the technological advancements in the audio world is important if one wants to provide cutting edge services. I can’t wait. Hope to see you there.
